One of Redding's unique and iconic places, especially if you're a child enjoying our long, hot summers, is Fantasy Fountain in Enterprise Park next to Kid's Kingdom. The spray features, water cannons and rumble of pending volcanic eruption have generated thousands of exciting squeals, laughter and good memories over the course of 10 years. Now, after faithfully serving our younger populace, Fantasy Fountain has undergone a "re-creation" to be safe for our children and operable in the coming years. Everyone can look forward to enjoying this new creation!

Enjoy smoke-free parks
Because we value modeling a healthy lifestyle to youth in our recreation program, the City of Redding passed a smoke-free parks policy beginning November 16, 2012. This will allow everyone to enjoy smoke-free park in Redding! For more information, please read the information linked below or call our office at 530.225.4512.

CLOSED-Furlough Fridays
On certain Fridays, the Recreation Office (located at 1250 Parkview Ave.) will be closed as part of the City wide Furlough Friday. We will typically reopen the following Monday. All other Recreation programs, camps, events, etc. will remain open and staffed. Closure dates for 2013 are: 1/11, 1/25, 2/8, 2/22, 3/8, 3/22, 4/5, 4/19, 5/3, 5/17, 5/31, 6/14, 6/28, 7/12, 7/26, 8/9, 8/23, 9/6, 9/20, 10/4, 10/18, 11/1, 11/15, 12/6, 12/13, 12/27.
